Job summary

Daifuku North America is seeking a Powder Coat Supervisor for the 2nd shift to oversee shop activities, support manufacturing and safety objectives, and ensure high-quality output. The role requires on-site presence in Hobart, Indiana, and a 2:00pm–10:30pm shift (with some Saturdays).

Ideal candidates will have strong Excel skills, analytical abilities, and a proven ability to work independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment. Competitive benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; technical degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience.
• Supervisory experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Leads the daily work of the team, including scheduling staff and planning work.
• Direct employees to meet quality and on-time delivery requirements and address production challenges.
• Send end-of-shift reports with updates to managers.
• Collaborate with production to manage workflow and clarify responsibilities.
• Lead 6S improvements and strive for 90 points.
• Provide technical guidance and consult with other resources as needed.

Position Summary:

The Powder CoatSupervisor (2nd Shift) supervises activities of Shop employees, supports manufacturing, and safety objectives.

Ideal Candidate:

• Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring Sponsorship
• Must be available to work on-site daily in Hobart, Indiana
• Must be available to work 2nd shift hours 2:00pm-10:30pm (Some Saturdays will be required as well)
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions, formulas, and data analysis tools.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality output.
• Acollaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Salary Range: $70,000.00K-$90,000.00K

Responsibilities

Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Leads the daily work of the team, including scheduling staff, planning and assigning work, implementing policies and procedures, and ensuring efficient work flow
• Direct employees in meeting quality and on-time delivery requirements, address production challenges, and communicate issues to relevant managers
• Follow the dispatch due dates and send reports with updates on the end of your shift to your manager and plant manager
• Partner with production department in managing workflow and ensuring that employees understand their responsibilities and delegated tasks
• Lead 6S improvements with your manager and direct employees to reach the goal of 90 points
• Provides technical guidance to team members and consults with other resources when needed
• Communicates with the Manager regarding schedules and backlogs
• Assists the Manager with selection and performance management of employees and recommending compensation
• Recommends equipment upgrades, staffing adjustments, improvements in procedures and working conditions, and process modifications
• Monitoring employee productivity and providing constructive feedback and coaching
• Gives the team written and oral instructions
• Standardizes procedures to improve efficiency
• Follows departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous improvement objectives, and safety rules
• Maintain timekeeping and attendance records for your groups using UKG
• Issue corrective actions for employees who are not adhering to company policies (safety, attendance etc)
• Ensures that employees are progressing on training plans to achieve higher levels of performance and production.
• Evaluates employee performance.
• Responsible for first line employee relations and resolution of issues within their departments.
• Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku's QMS policies and procedures.
• Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field a plus
• Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience
• Supervisory experience a plus
