Job summary

Life Fitness / Hammer Strength is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead daily production and powder coat painting operations, driving safety, quality, throughput, and on-time completion through clear expectations and hands-on coaching. You will use powder coat knowledge to guide process steps, partner with Maintenance, Quality and Engineering on improvements, and develop a capable, flexible team.

The position offers a comprehensive benefits package and a salary range of $62,300 - $86,000

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or technical degree in a related field with supervisory experience.
• Proven ability to lead teams, set expectations, coach performance, and drive accountability.
• Experience in powder coat painting, industrial finishing, or related manufacturing preferred.
• Knowledge of powder coating materials, pretreatment, electrostatic equipment, curing ovens, and inspection methods.
• Ability to interpret production schedules, work instructions, quality requirements, and reports.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office; Oracle skills are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop production leads, employees, and contractors to safety, quality, and productivity goals.
• Set daily priorities, monitor progress, and adjust staffing to meet schedules and customer needs.
• Provide visible floor leadership and reinforce safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee powder coat process steps including prep, racking, application, curing, inspection, and handling.
• Identify coating defects and work with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering to resolve root causes.
• Ensure policy, SOP, PPE, and environmental practices are followed.
• Coordinate with Maintenance on equipment readiness, changeovers, and preventive maintenance.
• Lead shift meetings to communicate KPIs, priorities, and performance expectations.
• Support training, staffing, scheduling, and performance management.
• Maintain accurate production and process documentation.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
