Job summary

VulcanForms is seeking a Global Category Manager for Powder & Atomization to own sourcing strategy, supplier relationships, and commercial execution for metal powders and toll atomization. You will partner with Materials Engineering, Quality, and Finance to secure resilient supply, drive costs, and build supplier capability in a fast-growing production environment.

Responsibilities include multi-year strategy, negotiations, lifecycle management, and total-cost-of-ownership analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or Supply Chain preferred.
• 8+ years procurement or supply chain experience with 4+ years in direct-material or commodity categories.
• Experience sourcing and contracting for direct/raw materials with multi-source programs.

Responsibilities

• Own multi-year category strategy for metal powders and atomization services.
• Lead sourcing, negotiation, and contracting for powder producers and toll atomizers.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Quality on specs, qualification, and supplier governance.
• Manage end-to-end procurement lifecycle from demand planning to PO execution.
• Develop should-cost models and cost benchmarks for powder purchases.
• Identify and mitigate supply risks and maintain risk registers.
• Drive savings and cost-avoidance roadmap; report KPIs to VP Supply Chain.
