Job summary

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Mechanical Engineering required.
  • Six months to one year of experience expected.
  • Willingness to work as a team member in a hands-on production environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a lean manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with just-in-time and lean manufacturing theories.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise hourly production personnel in the pouring line.
  • Maintain daily communication with department management, scheduling, quality, and plant management.
  • Assist and interact with production and personnel-related functions within the department.
  • Address challenges in efficient use of materials, machines, and manpower to produce quality products.

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a 1st Shift Pouring Line Engineer at our Riverside, CA manufacturing plant. This position is an entry level position that will receive extensive training on polyurethane slab stock production. In this position, you will become familiar with the process, machinery, chemistry, and supervision of a polyether foam pouring process.

Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operational excellence. The Pouring Line Engineer will be expected to assist with the direct supervision of hourly production personnel. The Pouring Line Engineer is also responsible for maintaining daily communication with department management, production personnel, scheduling, quality, and plant management. This individual will be responsible for assisting with the supervision of production and personnel related functions within the department. Major challenges include the efficient usage of materials, machines, and manpower to produce a quality product.

Additional Responsibilities Of The Pour Line Engineer Will Include
  • Develops understanding of pouring line technology (example: machinery, PLC and formulations)
  • Follows company standard operating procedures
  • Participates in Pour Line projects
  • Assist and interact with Reinhart Technical Center support group
  • Physically assist equipment setup
  • Contact and interact with suppliers
  • Provides directions to hourly employees in the areas of production, quality, safety, and value of order.
Skills And Requirements
  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Six months to one year of experience.
  • Willingness to work as a team member in a “hands-on” production environment
  • Ability to work successfully in an autonomous environment
  • Capability to work under just-in-time and lean manufacturing theories.

This is an exempt, bi-weekly position. Starting range is $69,350/year.
