Cobb is hiring for a position focused on handling birds and operating selection equipment within a biosecure environment. The role involves rotating duties with the team to ensure efficient processing from catching to weighing, with strict attention to animal welfare standards.

Starting pay is $17.00 per hour, with additional shift differentials for evenings, nights and weekends. Benefits begin on day one of full-time hire, and overtime eligibility applies where needed.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months.
• If applicant has been laid off or providing child or elder care, the employment gap will be increased to 18 months.
• Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days and a rule of no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods.

Responsibilities

• Setup equipment for selection process per instructions (15%).
• Select birds by isolating up to 200 birds into catch frame for selection, weighing and data entry.
• Euthanize off condition birds using cervical dislocation method following welfare guidelines (10%).
• Move partitions, back trailer, and sanitize equipment between areas per biosecurity requirements (15%).
