Qualifications

• PhD in Poultry Science/Animal Science or closely related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in poultry production systems.
• Knowledge of emerging research priorities relevant to Georgia agriculture and poultry industry.
• Evidence of innovative instructional pedagogy including AI-assisted education and research technologies.
• Ability to create inclusive, effective learning environments that support student success.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate in teaching, research and extension settings.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational and communication skills.
• Demonstrated potential to secure external research funding.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Design, prepare, and supervise student laboratory and experiential learning activities.
• Develop course objectives, assignments, and methods for assessing student learning outcomes.
• Develop and sustain a robust research program in poultry science/poultry production.
• Train and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research.
• Establish collaborative relationships with poultry industry partners and institutions within the University System of Georgia that have poultry programs.
• Secure extramural funding through grants and collaborations.
• Provide service to professional organizations, college, university and community.
• Collaborate with Cooperative Extension service to support poultry producers in Middle Georgia.
• Position may involve instructional duties.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
