Job summary

Daybreak Foods, Inc. is seeking a Production Operations Director in Grant Park, IL to lead overall production strategies aligned with business objectives.

The role includes supervising day-to-day operations, ensuring animal welfare compliance, and directing budget, staffing, and process improvements. Responsibilities cover coordinating safety programs, inspections, and reports, while partnering with nutritionists and the feed mill to maintain safe feed and food programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in business management, poultry science or related field or equivalent experience preferred.
• CLM and Mortality Composting Certificates preferred.
• Two to Five years of experience working in an animal farming operation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the supervision of the day-to-day operations of the production department and coordinate animal welfare documentation and compliance requirements.
• Manage animal husbandry and flock management to meet bird needs, including daily barn inspections.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures; recommend improvements in production methods.
• Oversee purchasing, department budget, labor hours and inventory control.
• Lead staff through coaching, training, and performance evaluations; manage new hires.
