Job summary

Versova is seeking a Production Leader to manage poultry production operations at a designated site. You will lead hourly staff, ensure animal welfare, meet production targets, and collaborate with managers on safety and compliance.

This hands-on role requires 4+ years in poultry production, including supervision, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years hands-on experience in poultry production, specifically in layer operations with 2+ years as a lead/supervisor.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied climate conditions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee bird health, feeding, watering, ventilation, and facility cleanliness
• Ensure product quality, minimize losses, and meet production targets
• Coordinate feed deliveries and manage inventory needs
• Responsible for all aspects of personnel management
• Lead and direct hourly staff; foster a culture of safety, compliance, and accountability
• Oversee facility and equipment maintenance and repairs
• Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, EPA, FSMA, animal welfare, and biosecurity standards
• Assist with budgeting and expense control
• Communicate issues to management and support required reporting
• Coordinate bird placement, staffing, and special projects
• Maintain availability to react, respond, and arrive at the farm for emergency calls, when necessary, in accordance with company policy and applicable labor laws.
• Respond to alarms and operational alerts remotely or onsite, following established procedures.
• Work closely with the Production Manager and senior leadership to support operational and compliance goals
• Support internal departments, vendors, and contractors to ensure safe and compliant operations
• Other duties as assigned
