Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a reliable sanitation team member to clean and sanitize production equipment, tools, and facilities in our Wisconsin poultry plants. You will follow USDA and company sanitation standards, apply cleaning chemicals safely, and report any issues to help maintain food safety and quality.

This fast-paced role requires attention to detail, strong teamwork, and a commitment to safety. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday with possible weekend overtime; base pay starts at $23.71/hour

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Experience: Poultry, food industry, or manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Ability to multitask and work quickly in a fast-paced environment, good communication skills, ability to comprehend instructions and apply common sense, strong attention to detail, and must be a team player.
• Ability to work in a refrigerated environment with temperatures from 10°F to 40°F, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize production equipment, tools, and work areas according to USDA, food safety, and company sanitation standards.
• Prepare, mix, and safely apply cleaning chemicals while following PPE and safety requirements.
• Inspect equipment and areas after sanitation to ensure proper cleanliness and report any issues or hazards promptly.
• Maintain an organized, safe work environment by removing debris, rinsing surfaces, and ensuring proper storage of tools and chemicals.
• Work collaboratively with team members to complete sanitation tasks efficiently and support a positive, safety-focused environment.
• Follow detailed sanitation procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and all safety, food safety, and biosecurity guidelines.
• Perform additional sanitation duties as needed to support production readiness and meet operational goals.
• Other duties as assigned.
