Trainees may rotate through layer and pullet houses, processing, egg grading, warehousing, shipping, or feed mill, gaining hands-on experience and exposure to operations, quality, and safety. Strong teamwork and willingness to learn across areas are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in management or poultry science from a four-year college or university.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• A valid driver’s license and forklift certificate may be required for this position.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervisory responsibilities, in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, include planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Trainee will enthusiastically pursue, and be flexible to, learning and experience in multiple areas such as flock service; vaccination programs; molting programs; feeding programs; house maintenance; pest control programs; egg grading and packing; warehousing and shipping; sanitation procedures; preventive maintenance; inventory control, procurement, and record-keeping.
• Other duties as assigned.
