Job summary

AVS Bio is a global leader in biologics based in Catskill, NY, offering an entry-point role as Poultry House Operator. You will assist with daily care of laying hens, monitor house conditions, feed and water, and collect eggs to ensure clean SPF eggs for sale.

Fully paid training is provided, and the schedule runs days 6am–2:30pm with breaks. This role is ideal for candidates from healthcare, service, animal care, or other hands-on backgrounds seeking long-term growth in the life sciences

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work in a farm environment and lift up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Monitor feed, water, equipment, and house conditions.
• Collect and sanitize eggs for SPF eggs.
• Maintain sanitation and biosecurity standards.
• Observe flock health and report concerns to Farm Management.
• Perform basic maintenance and humane care of birds.
• Assist in training new hires.
• Perform weekly blood draws.
