Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. is seeking a technical support specialist for our poultry production teams in Kentucky.

You will advise producers on building and equipment specifications, litter management, and farm sanitation, visit farms to document comfort and health, monitor feed, sampling as required, and coordinate chick placements. Requires a Bachelor’s in agriculture or related field, 1+ year poultry experience, valid driver’s license, willingness to travel up to 5 trips per year, and adherence to

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in an agricultural field or equivalent experience relevant to the position preferred.
• Experience: 1+ years’ experience in a poultry or agriculture-related field preferred.
• Travel: 1 to 5 out-of-complex trips per year. Must possess and maintain an active driver’s license.
• Biosecurity: Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild or exotic fowl to be considered; sign Bio-security agreement.
• Internal candidates: Notification process for current manager if selected for interview.

Responsibilities

• Advising producers on building and equipment specifications, litter management and farm sanitation.
• Visiting farms to document bird comfort, manage flock and equipment/lighting settings, monitor health, and provide recommendations.
• Monitoring feed consumption and ordering.
• Pulling blood and fat samples as required.
• Coordinating chick placements to farms.
• Assisting with catch schedules.
• Ensuring communication among Hatchery, Feed Mill, and Live Haul departments.
• Ensuring adherence to USDA and government regulations regarding poultry handling.
