Job summary

Aviagen in the United States seeks a Poultry Specialist to supervise all aspects of contract farms in Oklahoma. You will ensure bio-security, animal welfare, and health and safety across operations, resolve grower conflicts, and support placements, vaccinations, and disinfection.

This role requires initiative, solid communication, and the ability to manage schedules in a demanding poultry production environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Poultry Science or related field (preferred).
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to calculate feed, manage and weigh birds, prioritize work schedules, solve problems.
• Ability to work flexible hours including some weekends - on call 24 hours a day.
• Must be self-motivated with accuracy and efficiency.
• Good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Team oriented.
• Current driver's license.
• Two years of poultry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervising all aspects of contract farms
• Resolving contract grower conflicts
• Bio-security, strain security, animal welfare and health & safety are major responsibilities
• Assisting with placements, vaccinations, and disinfection
• May perform other tasks as deemed necessary by supervisor
