Job summary

Aviagen, a poultry farming company in Alabama, seeks a Farm Associate I to care for birds and support farm operations on a poultry facility. You will gather and grade eggs, maintain sanitation in the egg wash area, and monitor flock health in a role that includes physical work and adherence to safety standards.

The position requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand long hours, and willingness to work weekends or holidays as needed, with showers in/out and strict bio-security practices

Qualifications

• Understands oral and written instructions and performs simple tasks.
• Able to stand for long periods (8+ hours) with a flexible schedule.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing manual tasks.
• Willing to work in various barn conditions and handle live poultry.
• Must shower in and shower out of facility.

Responsibilities

• Collect eggs and grade by category, size and condition.
• Transfer eggs from barn to cooler and document egg counts.
• Maintain and record data on eggs and flock health.
• Monitor feed lines, drinkers, fans, and barn appearance.
• Clean and rebuild pens and manage house sanitation.
• Move birds for weighing or relocation as required.
• Follow Animal Care Standards and Bio-Security policies.
