Job summary

Aviagen seeks a Farm Associate I to support poultry operations, focusing on animal care and welfare across the Aviagen farm network. You will perform daily tasks to ensure flock health, egg handling, and clean, safe facilities.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and willingness to work weekends or holidays as needed. Training provided on safety and bio-security protocols.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time (8 hrs or more).
• Lift up to 50 lbs or more.
• Shower in and shower out of facility is a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Collect eggs and prevent excessive breakage.
• Grade eggs according to category, size and condition; transfer egg flats and record counts.
• Monitor and document health and mortality of the flock.
• Maintain poultry house conditions (feed lines, drinkers, fans, barn appearance).
• Move birds for weighing or relocation as required.
• Work with detergents, disinfectants and other chemicals safely.
