Job summary

Clear Destination Inc. in Texas is seeking a Pouch Operator in the Operations department to operate Pouch 1 & 2 and produce bubble pouches. The role reports to the Manufacturing Manager and is Hourly Non-Exempt.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma, 2+ years in manufacturing, basic math and English writing skills, and the ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs. You will set up, operate, troubleshoot, and support changeovers while maintaining safety and inventory

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years in a manufacturing environment or as a machine operator.
• Intermediate math skills and English writing ability.
• Ability to stand/walk for up to 12 hours and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot pouching equipment.
• Complete first-offs per specifications.
• Perform changeovers per standard.
• Establish and follow equipment parameters; seek improvements.
• Coach assistants/packers with clear instructions.
• Ensure materials for changeovers are available.
• Pack and identify product per specifications.
• Maintain inventory control and minimize downtime.
• Oversee assistants and ensure task clarity.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Title: Pouch Operator

Immediate Supervisor: Manufacturing Manager

Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

Position Purpose: Operates Pouch 1 & 2 and produces bubble pouches

Principle Accountabilities

• Responsible to set-up, operate and troubleshoot equipment and processes.
• Ensure first offs are completed as per technical specifications.
• Ensure changeover is completed as per standard.
• Ensure equipment and set-up parameters are established, followed, and improved.
• Coaching and mentoring of assistants and helpers by providing clear and precise instructions, if assigned
• Ensure materials required for changeover are available and secured prior to set-ups.
• Ensure product is packed and identified as per specifications.
• Ensure accurate inventory and effective control of materials and supplies.
• Ensure work-center’s downtime is minimized by ensuring proper equipment set-ups, material is present prior to changeover and report lack of raw materials, tooling and / or equipment issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Oversee the assistants and helpers/packers and provide clear and precise instructions to them.
• All duties outlined in the assistant job description.
• All other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 2+ Years in a Manufacturing environment / machine operator experience preferred.
• Intermediate math skills and English written communication skills necessary.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours at a time required
• Ability to work in space limited work area on continuous basis.
• Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis
• General computer knowledge and experience handling paperwork
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Ability to perform the physical aspects of the role following recommended practices, with an emphasis on safety and injury prevention
• Inventory experience preferred
