Job summary

Intertape Polymer Group in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Pouch Operator to operate pouch machines and produce bubble pouches. This hourly, non-exempt role requires careful setup, troubleshooting, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

You will follow changeovers, monitor equipment, assist with product identification and packing, and support the Operations team. A high school diploma and at least 2 years manufacturing experience are preferred, with strong math and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years in a manufacturing environment or machine operator experience preferred.
• Intermediate math skills and English written communication skills necessary.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours at a time required
• Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis
• General computer knowledge and experience handling paperwork
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Ability to perform the physical aspects of the role following recommended practices, with an emphasis on safety and injury prevention
• Inventory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and troubleshoot equipment and processes.
• Ensure first offs are completed as per technical specifications.
• Ensure changeover is completed as per standard.
• Ensure equipment and set-up parameters are established, followed, and improved.
• Coaching and mentoring of assistants and helpers by providing clear and precise instructions, if assigned
• Ensure materials required for changeover are available and secured prior to set-ups.
• Ensure product is packed and identified as per specifications.
• Ensure accurate inventory and effective control of materials and supplies.
• Ensure work-center’s downtime is minimized by ensuring proper equipment set-ups, material is present prior to changeover and report lack of raw materials, tooling and / or equipment issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Oversee the assistants and helpers/packers and provide clear and precise instructions to them.
• All duties outlined in the assistant job description.
• All other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience
