Job summary

Itape in Bardstown, KY is seeking a Pouch Operator to operate Pouch 1 & 2 and produce bubble pouches in a hands-on manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include setting up and operating equipment, completing first-offs per specs, and ensuring changeovers are done correctly.

You will participate in inventory control, assist other team members, and uphold safety and quality standards. The role is hourly, non-exempt, with an emphasis on teamwork, accurate paperwork, and reliable performance

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 2+ years in a Manufacturing environment / machine operator experience preferred.
• Intermediate math skills and English written communication skills necessary.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours at a time required.
• Ability to work in space limited work area on continuous basis.
• Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis.
• General computer knowledge and experience handling paperwork.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Ability to perform the physical aspects of the role following recommended practices, with an emphasis on safety and injury prevention.
• Inventory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set-up, operate and troubleshoot equipment and processes.
• Ensure first offs are completed as per technical specifications.
• Ensure changeover is completed as per standard.
• Establish, follow, and improve equipment and setup parameters.
• Coach and mentor assistants and helpers as assigned.
• Ensure materials for changeover are available and secured prior to set-ups.
• Ensure product is packed and identified as per specifications.
• Maintain accurate inventory and effective control of materials and supplies.
• Minimize downtime by proper setup, ensuring materials are present, and reporting issues.
• Oversee assistants/packers and provide clear instructions.
• Perform all duties outlined in the assistant job description.
• All other duties as assigned.

Principle Accountabilities

• Ensure work-center’s downtime is minimized by ensuring proper equipment set-ups, material is present prior to changeover and report lack of raw materials, tooling and / or equipment issues to the appropriate personnel.
