Job summary

Idaho Pacific Holdings is seeking a Drum Operator for its Colorado center. The role focuses on running a potato-dehydrating drum while maintaining product quality and safety, and managing mash flow and tooling during a 24/7 shift.

The candidate should follow detailed instructions, have experience with processing equipment, and be capable of lifting and moving heavy mash while maintaining sanitation and avoiding contamination.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with potato dehydration processes.
• Ability to closely follow operational instructions.
• Experience around processing equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of chlorine use and cleaning/sanitizing chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain consistent flow of mash; adjust feed auger speed and rollers; shovel as needed.
• Keep mash on applicator rolls and ensure clean mash is used to minimize defects.
• Reduce waste by adjusting rolls and maintaining thick sheet of mash.
• Use bullhide knife to remove bullhides when found and assist in knife replacement.
• Inform Flake Operator or Shift Manager of problems promptly.
• Stay near the drum during operation and monitor product quality for grade compliance.
• Follow safety regulations; keep area clean and sanitized; avoid cross-contamination.
• Complete sanitation duties and maintain tools and catwalks in sanitary condition.
