Job summary

Christiana Care Health System is seeking a patient care support on the Postpartum unit. 8-hour shifts run 5a-1:30p with every other weekend and rotating holidays. Work involves assisting the patient care team, transporting patients, setting up equipment, restocking supplies, cleaning procedures, and supporting RN staff to ensure safe outcomes.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and BLS certification. Sterile processing experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Computer skills.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
• BLS required.
• Sterile Processing Experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patient care team in transferring patients.
• Assist in positioning patients for procedures.
• Transport patients to/from procedure area.
• Set up procedure equipment and supplies.
• Restock supplies and equipment for room readiness.
• Review inventory of supplies.
• Operate equipment and maintain room setup during procedures.
• Perform cleaning and instrument handling tasks.
• Complete equipment quality controls and report issues.
• Demonstrate professional etiquette and effective communication.
