Job summary

BACA is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join its Elkhart, IN therapy team. The role involves in-person sessions and telehealth, collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, and ongoing parent and staff education.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Indiana licensure (or by hire), and proven experience with autism. Strong communication and training skills are required to support students and teammates.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required.
• Indiana state licensure to practice as an SLP (or licensure by time of hire).
• Experience working with children with autism.
• Experience in providing training to support team members.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and complete 5-6 speech treatment sessions with students (in person and/or via telehealth).
• Provide written communication to behavior technicians regarding speech targets.
• Update teaching targets regularly (weekly/bi-weekly).
• Provide training to behavior technicians on teaching speech and language skills.
• Prepare six-month progress reports, daily notes and IEPs; handle evaluations to fill caseload.
• Attend bi-weekly clinical meetings at the home center; manage weekly time schedules.
• Schedule speech consultations with the ABA team; communicate with ABA Team Supervisors, OT, and parents.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide ongoing parent and staff education.

Overview

BACA is looking for a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join their growing therapy team in Elkhart, IN. We have educational centers that provides services for students with autism, as well as other related disorders. Our related services team consists of speech, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and music therapy. SLPs are an integral part of our interdisciplinary team, supporting exceptional outcomes for our students.

Responsibilities

• Plan and complete on 5-6 speech treatment sessions with students on a daily basis (in person and/or via telehealth)
• Provide written communication to behavior technicians regarding speech targets.
• Update teaching targets as needed (weekly, bi-weekly, etc.)
• Provide training to behavior technicians related to teaching speech and language skills
• Prepare six-month progress reports, daily log notes and IEPs, at times frequency may increase due to parent request or goal updates
• Complete evaluations to fill caseload
• Attend and participate in bi-weekly clinical meetings at your “home” center
• Prepare, manage and make available your time management schedule on a weekly basis
• Schedule speech consultations with ABA team as needed
• Communicate regularly with each ABA Team Supervisor, while providing updates
• Work collaboratively as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team
• Provide continual parent and staff training and education
• Conduct formal and informal assessments
• Communicate schedule and clinical decisions with ABA team, OT, and parents
• Answer speech and language questions regarding clients on caseload

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required
• Licenseto practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Indiana (or must obtain license by time of hire)
