Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL administration in on-premises and cloud environments.

PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA):

We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, optimize, and secure enterprise PostgreSQL database environments. This role is responsible for database architecture, performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery, security compliance, automation, and support for mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, proactive problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with development, infrastructure, cloud, and security teams.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, upgrade, clone, and maintain PostgreSQL database environments on-premises and in cloud platforms.
• Monitor database health, performance, and availability across production, staging, and development environments.
• Manage database objects including schemas, tables, indexes, partitions, views, functions, and stored procedures.
• Perform regular database maintenance
• Ensure database uptime and operational excellence through proactive monitoring and issue resolution.
• Analyze slow-running queries and optimize SQL performance.
• Design and maintain effective indexing strategies.
• Perform query execution plan analysis.
• Optimize PostgreSQL configuration parameters.
• Identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks related to CPU, memory, storage, and network resources.
• Develop, test, and maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures.
• Execute database refreshes and restores during incidents and recovery operations.
• Implement database security standards and best practices.
• Implement cloud-native monitoring and automation.
• Optimize cloud database performance and costs.
• Support hybrid and multi-cloud database architectures.
• Support Client development staff with database design related to reliability, resource utilization, operational efficiency, database environments, bug fixes, and vendor support coordination.

Requirements:

• Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL administration in on-premises and cloud environments.
• Database migration experience, including Oracle to PostgreSQL, SQL Server to PostgreSQL, and on-premises to Azure migrations.
• Recent technical background in database administration.
• Excellent knowledge of best practices for managing, controlling, and monitoring database infrastructure.
