Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in West Point, PA, to lead independent studies on polysaccharide conjugate vaccine antigen processing and MHC II-restricted epitopes presented by APCs. The role offers cross-department collaboration and opportunities for publications in high-tier journals.

The successful candidate will design experiments, purify MHC II complexes, map epitopes, and evaluate T-cell activation, advancing vaccine MoA and design decisions. A Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Must currently hold a Ph.D. or receive a Ph.D. by spring 2027 in a relevant discipline.
• Experience in mammalian cell culture and immunological assays (ELISA, Western Blot, Flow Cytometry).
• Strong ability to identify/mapping of MHC I/II-restricted epitopes by immunoprecipitation and MS.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute independent end-to-end experiments on MHC II-peptide/glycopeptide complexes.
• Purify MHC II complexes via immunoprecipitation and analyze epitopes across human APCs.
• Assess human T-cell activation using immunodominant peptides or PS-conjugated peptides.
• Collaborate with internal/external partners and publish results in peer-reviewed journals.
