Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join a cross-functional team studying immune-mediated inflammatory diseases using single-cell and spatial transcriptomics.

Analyze datasets from human tissues to identify disease-driving cellular programs and translational biomarkers, with opportunities to publish and present at major conferences. Qualifications

• PhD or PhD expected by spring 2027 in a quantitative field.
• Strong skills in R and/or Python with genomics experience.
• Experience with large-scale single-cell/spatial datasets and HPC/AWS.
• Ability to build scalable pipelines for scRNA-seq and multimodal data.
• Proven publication record in computational biology or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large-scale single-cell RNA-seq and spatial transcriptomics data.
• Develop computational methods for data integration and interpretation.
• Collaborate with immunologists and translational scientists on biomarker discovery.
• Lead publication-quality analyses and prepare manuscripts.
• Present findings in internal forums and external conferences.
• Contribute to the development of reusable computational resources.
