Job summary

Merck & Co. is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to advance single-cell and spatial transcriptomics in immune-mediated inflammatory diseases.

You will analyze large-scale datasets from human tissues, identify disease-driving programs, and develop translational biomarkers that bridge biology and therapy. The role sits at the intersection of computational biology, immunology, and translational medicine, with exposure to cutting-edge multi-omics and tissue atlases across HS and related

Qualifications

PhD in a relevant field by spring 2027.
Strong programming skills in R and/or Python.
Experience analyzing large-scale genomics or multi-omics datasets.
Hands-on experience with GPU computing, HPC, and AWS for large-scale analyses.
Publication record in computational biology, genomics, immunology, or related fields.
Strong scientific communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Analyze large-scale scRNA-seq and spatial transcriptomics data.
Develop and implement data integration, annotation methods.
Apply ML and network biology to interpret results.
Integrate multi-omics and clinical data to generate insights.
Collaborate with immunologists, translational scientists, and computational researchers.
Lead publication-quality analyses and manuscripts.
Present findings at internal forums and external conferences.
Develop reusable computational resources and methods.
Collaborate across DAGS, Immunology Discovery, and Translational Medicine teams.
