Job summary

Texas Biomedical Research Institute is seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist to join a multidisciplinary team focused on identifying bioactive metabolites, lipids, and natural products related to infectious diseases and cancer. The role involves mass spectrometry, multi-omics, cell culture, and animal models to elucidate host-pathogen interactions and immune responses.

Successful candidates will design independent experiments, generate hypotheses, and contribute to abstracts, posters, and manuscripts

Qualifications

  • Hold a doctoral degree (PhD, MD, DDS, DVM, or equivalent).
  • Experience with metabolomics and lipidomics is highly desirable.
  • Ability to design independent research and develop hypotheses.

Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct independent scientific research under direction of PI.
  • Conduct metabolomics, lipidomics, chemical biology, immunology, bacteriology, infection immunity, and cancer therapeutics research.
  • Identify mammalian and microbial metabolites as potential ligands or antigens.
  • Develop and test hypotheses; troubleshoot assays.
  • Maintain accurate records and present results to lab members.
  • Prepare abstracts, posters, talks, and manuscripts.
  • Assist in grant and contract applications as needed.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and participate in seminars.
