Job summary

The HHMI in Seattle invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scientist to join the lab of Dr. Alison Feder at the University of Washington. The role focuses on studying rapid evolutionary dynamics in viruses, bacteria, and cancer contexts, with the goal of developing spatially informed insights.

You will design and execute experiments or analyses, write manuscripts, and present findings at local and national meetings, collaborating across disciplines and mentoring junior scientists.

Qualifications

• PhD in life sciences, computer science or applied mathematics is required.
• Focus on genetics, genomics, evolutionary biology, or computational biology preferred.
• Experience with Python or R and analysis of next generation sequencing data is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop your own research project or join an existing one on rapid evolutionary dynamics.
• Write scientific manuscripts describing research findings.
• Attend meetings to present findings and build scientific networks.
