Job summary

Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scientist in the Rankin Lab, focusing on chromosome assembly and dynamics within the Cell Cycle and Cancer Biology Research Program. You will work with cellular, biochemical, embryonic, and advanced microscopy methods to uncover chromosome behavior and inheritance.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in a biological science, chemistry, physics, or other relevant area; M.D.; or equivalent.
  • Interest in learning new techniques and exploring complex biological questions.
  • Ability to interpret experimental data and summarize findings.
  • Commitment to participate in lab and departmental activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative in independent research projects.
  • Strong teamwork and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

  • Use molecular biology, biochemistry, microscopy, and genomic techniques to define mechanisms underlying chromosome stability.
  • Analyze data and maintain detailed experimental records.
  • Collaborate with other scientists in the department and beyond.
  • Prepare manuscripts and presentations for conferences.
  • Apply for outside funding, with help from the PI, as eligible.
