Postbaccalaureate Research Scholar - Zhao Lab

Position Overview and Responsibilities

Position Overview

Our laboratory maintains a dynamic and productive research pace, and successful fellows are expected to be adaptable, organized, and committed to producing high-quality work.

Research Focus

The Zhao lab studies how immune cells regulate tissue inflammation and cancer development using mouse models and cellular immunology approaches.

What You Will Gain

  • Hands-on training in modern immunology and molecular biology, and cell biology techniques
  • Experience working with genetically engineered mouse models
  • Participation in lab presentations, journal clubs and scientific discussions
  • Close mentorship from the PI and senior lab members

Minimum Qualifications

  • Recent (within the last 3 years) BA/BS degree in biological sciences, physics, chemistry, or related area.
  • Enthusiasm for biomedical research, including eagerness to learn new techniques and the ability to work independently once trained.
  • Willingness to work with mouse models.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
  • Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for working as part of a supportive, collaborative team.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced research environment and manage multiple responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous research experience in an academic or industry laboratory.
  • Strong hands‑on laboratory skills and familiarity with basic lab techniques.
  • Strong academic record (GPA>3.5).

Work Hours
Typically Monday through Friday from 9AM to 5:30PM.
