The USC Roski Eye Institute, Department of Ophthalmology, is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar-Research Associate to join its team.

Dr. Gokoffski’s lab is seeking a post-doctoral scholar with a PhD background to direct research projects supported by Federal Grants. We are a dynamic basic science lab funded by the DOD, NIH, and ARPA-H. We need highly qualified researchers to help lead current projects, mentor students, and develop future research initiatives.

Job Summary:
Serves as a research trainee to develop research competencies, participating in planning, designing, and conducting complex research projects under supervision. Analyzes data, interprets results, and contributes to research publications and technical reports.
This is a temporary, fixed-term position (one year, renewable up to five years) based at the Zilkha Neurogenetic Institute, Los Angeles, CA, with a 100% workload (37.5 hours/week).

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in planning, designing, and conducting research projects.
• Research, compile, and evaluate data and background information.
• Analyze research data, interpret results, and review literature for new methodologies.
• Contribute to research documentation for publication and technical reports.
• Operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in a related field, with 1+ years of experience preferred. Must include a resume in the application; a cover letter is optional.
