Job summary

The Center of Applications of Mathematics and Statistics to Economics (CAMSE) at UC Berkeley invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in microeconomic theory. CAMSE promotes research in theoretical economics and econometrics with collaboration opportunities across disciplines.

The postdoctoral scholar will participate in seminars, develop a research portfolio, publish results, and may collaborate with Berkeley faculty. Start date: 07/01/2027; appointment for two years.

Qualifications

• PhD (or equivalent international degree) required.
• No more than three years of post-PhD research experience by start date.
• Experience in microeconomic theory, game theory, mechanism design, general equilibrium theory and decision theory desirable.

Responsibilities

• Participate in seminars and regular research meetings.
• Publish research results in peer-reviewed journals/conferences.
• Disseminate research results to the broader scientific community in conferences and seminars.
• Independently develop a research portfolio and collaborate on mentored research with Berkeley faculty.
• Option to apply to the open lecturer pool; teaching would be in a separate lecturer appointment.
