Penn State University, College of Medicine, Department of Heart and Vascular Institute in Hershey, PA, seeks a Postdoctoral Scholar to study inflammatory immune responses in cardiovascular disease using human and animal models.

The successful candidate will perform echocardiography, tissue analysis and flow cytometry, maintain transgenic mouse lines, analyze data, and contribute to manuscripts and grant applications.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree with expertise in molecular biology.
• Experience with in vivo and in vitro models of inflammation testing.
• Experience with flow cytometry.
• Experience with cell culture and isolation of primary cells.

Responsibilities

• Perform small animal echocardiography and functional analyses (2D, M‑mode, Doppler).
• Conduct coronary ligation surgeries and tissue harvesting with staining and flow analysis.
• Analyze data and write manuscripts/grants; isolate and analyze exosomes.
• Maintain cell lines; perform pharmacological assays, Western blotting and qRT‑PCR.
• Oversee transgenic mouse colonies; train technicians.
• Present data in presentations, manuscripts, and grant applications.
