  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team at various institutions.

Job description

Overview

Applications for a postdoctoral researcher are invited to work with an interdisciplinary team of physical oceanographers and fisheries scientists at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (Young-Oh Kwon, Ke Chen, Glen Gawarkiewicz, and Terry Joyce), the NOAA Northeast Fisheries Science Center (Paula Fratantoni, Jon Hare, Tim Miller and Vincent Saba), and the Stony Brook University (Janet Nye).

The postdoc will work on a collaborative project funded by the NOAA Modeling, Analysis, Predictions, and Projections (MAPP) Program to develop and evaluate a seasonal-to-interannual statistical forecasting system for oceanographic conditions and living marine resources on the Northeast U.S. Shelf (NES) based on their relationship with the large-scale climate variability.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and evaluate a seasonal-to-interannual statistical forecasting system for oceanographic conditions and living marine resources on the Northeast U.S. Shelf, using their relationship with large-scale climate variability.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team at WHOI, NOAA NEFSC, and Stony Brook University.
