Qualifications

• PhD in nutrition, vascular biology, physiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, cardiovascular science, or closely related biomedical discipline.
• Demonstrated experience conducting independent laboratory research in vascular biology, metabolism, cardiovascular physiology, or related field (internships, academic research, or clinical/research lab work).
• Proficiency in a variety of molecular, cellular, biochemical, and physiological laboratory techniques, with ability to develop, optimize, and troubleshoot protocols.
• Experience analyzing and interpreting complex data using appropriate statistical methods and software.
• Strong scholarly record including peer‑reviewed publications and presentations; knowledge of experimental design and translational/basic biomedical research.
• Ability to work independently and contribute within a multidisciplinary team; strong scientific writing and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring or training students and staff is preferred; commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct independent and collaborative research on vascular metabolism and cardiometabolic disease.
• Plan and optimize complex laboratory experiments using advanced molecular and cellular techniques.
• Analyze biological data with statistical methods and software to interpret findings.
• Prepare and disseminate research through publications, presentations, and reports.
• Contribute to grant proposals, progress reports, and sponsored research by generating data and content.
• Collaborate with investigators across disciplines to advance research initiatives.
• Mentor graduate students and staff; ensure lab safety and compliance.
