Job summary

Pennington Biomedical Research Center, part of LSU, seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher for the MENU Lab to advance diet, nutrition, and metabolism research using multi-omics and bioinformatics. Independent and collaborative studies will focus on clinical dietetics and translational biology under supervision and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The role involves data analysis, manuscript preparation, and grant-support activities, mentoring trainees, and contributing to overall lab goals

Qualifications

• PhD in nutrition, physiology, or closely related biomedical discipline.
• Two (2) years of experience conducting independent laboratory research in nutrition, metabolism, or related field.
• Proficiency in molecular, cellular, biochemical, and physiological lab techniques.
• Experience analyzing complex data using statistical methods and bioinformatics.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct independent and collaborative research in diet-health relationships.
• Analyze high-dimensional datasets using bioinformatics techniques.
• Plan and optimize metabolic assessment techniques (e.g., clamps, OGTT, MMTT).
• Prepare manuscripts and presentations for publication and conferences.
• Mentor students and staff while ensuring GLP and safety compliance.
