Job summary

Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge, LA, invites applications for a Research Associate 2 or 3 in the Integrative Stress Metabolism Laboratory. This role supports planning, execution, troubleshooting, and analysis of molecular and physiological experiments focused on stress and metabolism.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 2+ years of lab experience, and proficiency with RT-qPCR, Western blotting, and cell culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field.
• Two years of relevant research or lab experience required.
• Hands-on rodent behavioral and physiological techniques preferred.
• Wet-lab experience with Western blotting and RT-qPCR required.
• Ability to work independently and communicate findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, troubleshoot, and optimize molecular, biochemical, and physiological experiments.
• Collaborate with PI and team to select assays and analytical approaches.
• Analyze data, apply statistics, and draw scientifically sound conclusions.
• Coordinate multiple projects, maintain records, ensure reproducibility.
• Prepare manuscripts, abstracts, presentations, and grant proposals.
