Job summary

The Donald Danforth Plant Science Center seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to join the Optimum Teff project, focusing on improving teff productivity through genome editing and trait stacking. You will design and develop gene editing constructs, perform CRISPR-based edits, and phenotype edited plants under greenhouse and field conditions.

You will organize data, prepare progress reports and manuscripts, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across national and international

Qualifications

• PhD in Plant Molecular Biology, Plant Biotechnology, Genetics, or related field.
• Experience with plant genome editing and molecular characterization is preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop gene-editing constructs, including guide RNA design and vector assembly.
• Perform CRISPR-based genome editing and molecular characterization of edited plants.
• Conduct phenotypic evaluation of edited plants under greenhouse and field conditions.
• Organize, analyze, and maintain experimental data and research records.
• Prepare progress reports, presentations, and manuscripts.
