Responsibilities

  • Develop protocols to assemble purified S-layer proteins into crystals at the air-water interface.
  • Clone, express, purify S-layer proteins in E. coli; engineer secretion systems.
  • Analyze lattices; prepare samples for collaborators to assess order of crystals.
  • Document and maintain research data.
  • Present results at meetings; contribute to grant writing.
  • Assist with lab management and safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
