Qualifications

  • Requires a Doctoral (Ph.D.) by the start date of employment.
  • Preferred expertise in physical oceanography/environmental fluid mechanics.
  • Experience designing simulations with ROMS or MOM6 or related codes.
  • Ability to analyze large NetCDF ocean model outputs; proficiency in Fortran, Python, or Matlab.

Responsibilities

  • Lead independent research activities aligning with grant objectives.
  • Analyze numerical experiments, model outputs, and publish findings.
  • Coordinate research activities, write reports and proposals, present at conferences.
  • Coordinate lab operations, mentor students and research staff.
  • Develop new research directions and collaborate with internal/external investigators.
