Job summary

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden, CO invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Biotechnology and Metabolomics. The successful candidate will design and execute metabolomics workflows, analyze mass spectrometry data, and contribute to algae biotech projects aimed at biofuel and bioproduct optimization.

Candidates should hold a PhD in Biochemistry, Biology or Chemistry, with hands-on LC/MS/GC/MS experience and a track record of publication in metabolomics.

Qualifications

• PhD in Biochemistry, Biology or Chemistry and recent PhD graduate.
• Demonstrated experience and publication track record applying advanced analytical chemistry tools to solve biochemical problems, including metabolomics, GC/MS and LC/MS.
• Strong data analysis, and ability to communicate results effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute metabolomics experiments using LC-HRMS to quantify metabolites and biofuel precursors from biomass samples.
• Advance metabolomics tools and contribute to algae biotechnology for strain and process improvements.
• Write peer-reviewed manuscripts and participate in conference presentations.
