Mass General Brigham's Health Technology Performance Lab (HTP Lab) in the Department of Neurosurgery is hiring a full‑time postdoctoral researcher to study the ethical, clinical, legal, and health‑system challenges around genetic testing for substance use disorders in clinical care. The role offers opportunities to lead publications, present at conferences, and receive mentoring on grant writing.

Qualifications

• PhD, MD, or LD required; genetics, health sciences, social sciences, psychology, public health, neuroscience, or related field preferred.
• Strong track record in human subjects research including IRB/regulatory documentation.
• Experience building recruitment and data collection pipelines for qualitative and quantitative data.
• Experience analyzing and reporting mixed-methods results; qualitative and quantitative data.
• Experience preparing manuscripts for publication.

Responsibilities

• Oversee study operations and coordinate activities between the lab and collaborators.
• Develop SOPs and quality assurance systems for the study.
• Create study templates, manage databases, and develop training materials.
• Train and mentor entry-level staff ensuring SOP adherence.
• Manage day-to-day activities with PIs, schedule interviews, and coordinate team meetings.
• Develop project timelines, recruitment benchmarks, and workflows.
• Lead data collection (interviews, surveys, chart reviews) and quality checks.
• Lead instrument development for interviews and surveys.
• Lead data analysis using Dedoose, Excel, R and other tools.
• Assist with or lead manuscript and presentation preparation.
• Prepare IRB protocol submissions, amendments, and continuing reviews.
• Ensure compliance with study protocols and policies; report progress to stakeholders.
