Rutgers University – Waksman Institute of Microbiology in New Brunswick, NJ – seeks a Post Doctoral Associate (Gallavotti Lab) to conduct professional level experiments focused on cis-regulatory regions in the maize genome. The role involves maintaining notebooks, documenting results, and contributing to publications.

You will mentor students and technicians, present findings at meetings, and help train staff.

Qualifications

• PhD in Genetics, Molecular Biology, or related field by start date.
• Experience in molecular cloning, genetics and genomics.
• CRISPR-mediated editing and genotyping.
• Plant phenotyping.
• Bioinformatic analysis (RNA-seq, ChIP-seq).
• Protein expression and protein-DNA interactions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional experiments and maintain notebooks/databases.
• Train and lead staff, students, and technicians in lab activities.
• Prepare text, tables, and figures for publications and present results at meetings.
