Job summary

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
  • Laboratory/research experience; familiar with lab techniques and safety procedures.
  • Experience with heat exchangers, condensers, filtration, plasma/combustion or chemical reactor design.
  • Ability to plan, execute, and analyze experiments including maintaining lab records.
  • Some programming experience (Excel, Matlab, LabVIEW, etc).
  • Data analysis skills (Excel) including statistics basics.
  • Problem solving skills (logic).
  • Chemistry background; understanding of mass and heat transport processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-level experimental, theoretical, and numerical research and data analysis (65%).
  • Presentation of results in publications and proposals (10%).
  • Mentor PhD/MSME students (10%).
  • Laboratory organization and management (10%).
  • Other duties as assigned (5%).
