The University of Akron in Akron, OH seeks a post-doctoral researcher to synthesize and characterize polyisobutylene polyurethanes, scale >100 g, and document QC processes for biomedical-grade materials.

The candidate will publish results, prepare reports for funding agencies, and collaborate with researchers and industry partners while managing shared analytical equipment and reporting findings to the team.

50% The post-doctoral researcher will produce polyisobutylene polyurethanes at scale (>100g) and characterize the polymers;25% The researcher will establish and document manufacturing practices for biomedical-grade material and quality control;25% The researcher will prepare reports for publication and to granting agencies and attend joint research meetings with collaborators.Additional Position Information:Education:Requires a PhD in Polymer Science, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering.Experience:Requires up to 2 years related experience in a laboratory/research environment, and the commercialization of material technologies, NSF I-Corps completion, or industrial experience.
