Job summary

AMCP’s Postdoctoral Executive Fellowship is a year-long training program in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area designed for pharmacists seeking leadership roles in health care associations or managed care.

The Fellow will gain exposure to governance, strategy, professional affairs, and cross-functional leadership while embedded in AMCP’s Executive Office in Alexandria, VA. The Fellow works directly with the CEO and AMCP leaders, with weekly meetings and potential travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Must have or be scheduled to receive a PharmD from ACPE-accredited school before the fellowship’s start date.
• Desire to pursue a career in health care association leadership or managed care practice.
• Completing organized care coursework, managed care work experience, association involvement, and volunteer leadership experience are all a plus.
• Candidates must obtain their pharmacy licensure at the start of the fellowship program.

Responsibilities

• The Fellow will work directly with the CEO and AMCP leadership team and attend weekly meetings.
• The program provides immersive training across governance, strategy development and implementation, strategic communications, and professional affairs.
• Overnight travel may be required up to 25% of the time.
