Job summary

Augusta University in Augusta, GA is seeking a researcher to investigate cellular and molecular mechanisms of vascular remodeling and cardiovascular disease. The work integrates human vascular specimens with mouse models and uses single-cell sequencing, ATAC-seq, spatial transcriptomics, and CUT&Tag to define disease-related cell states.

Responsibilities include designing rigorous experiments, analyzing data, presenting findings at conferences, and publishing high-quality manuscripts.

Qualifications

• MD, PhD, or MD/PhD or equivalent degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience in vascular biology and mouse models is preferred.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

• RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS OF EXPERIMENTS: conduct and analyze results using manual or computer techniques and develop programs if needed.
• PROJECTS: participate in planning and development of research protocols with adherence to guidelines.
• SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE: review literature, summarize findings, and present at meetings.
• PUBLICATIONS: contribute to articles for journals and review others' work.
• ADVISING: guide investigators, postdocs, students, and staff on techniques.
• EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE: calibrate and operate microscopes and specialized equipment.
• OTHER: perform all other duties as assigned.
