Job summary

The University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Pulmonary Hypertension laboratory of Dr. Laszlo Farkas within the Department of Child Health.

The research focuses on molecular and immunological mechanisms underlying PAH, using mouse and rat models and human cell-based systems. Responsibilities include designing and conducting independent experiments, in vivo and in vitro studies, data analysis, and contributing to

Qualifications

PhD, MD or PhD/MD in Biological Sciences, Medicine, or relevant field of study.
Experience with AI models.
Experience with bioinformatic methods including omics analysis, flow cytometry, cell sorting, cell culture, and confocal microscopy.

Responsibilities

Perform independent research experiments under the direction of the Principal Investigator.
Design, implement, and manage independent and collaborative research projects focused on pulmonary hypertension mechanisms.
Conduct in vivo studies using mouse handling, chronic hypoxia exposure, and tissue harvesting.
Perform in vitro experiments with endothelial, smooth muscle, fibroblast and immune cell models.
Analyze RNA sequencing and proteomics data and interpret results.
Maintain mouse colonies and manage laboratory records.
Assist with grant proposals and manuscript preparation.
Present findings at meetings or conferences.
