This position is part of the National Institute of Standards (NIST) Professional Research Experience (PREP) program. Employees in this position will perform technical work that underpins the scientific research of the collaboration.
Postdoctoral Researcher
Researcher will develop a thermometer based on atomic fluorescence intensity ratios. This research project will explore several novel and high‑risk techniques for realizing a primary temperature sensor in a compact package. This will require operating and locking multiple lasers to atomic transitions, fiber‑optic design and operation, multilevel rate‑equation simulations, and careful characterization of systematic effects.
