Baylor College of Medicine in Houston is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral fellow to perform NIH-funded research on vascular calcification in chronic kidney disease using mouse models and multi-omics analyses.
The successful candidate will design experiments, analyze data, perform molecular biology assays, and contribute to publications while working in a collaborative lab focusing on cardiovascular and kidney diseases.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
The laboratory is seeking a highly motivated and responsible Postdoctoral fellow to perform NIH-funded R01 award. The primary focus of the lab is exploring the mechanism of the molecular and cellular events that lead to vascular calcification in chronic kidney disease. Animal models for chronic kidney disease or diabetic mice will be performed to mimic human relevant diseases. By using multi-Omics analysis, we found dysfunction of vascular endothelial cells interacting with smooth muscle cells leading to arterial medial calcification in chronic kidney disease. The Postdoctoral fellow is required to catch the newest scientific information and design approaches to archive the goal. Has a strong background in molecular biology, genomics, and bioinformatics is desired.
