  • Proficiency in data analysis software such as MantidPlot, Igor Pro or similar.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • A strong record of scientific productivity, as evidenced by publications and presentations.

Description

An exciting postdoctoral opportunity is available in the Departmentof Materials Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University toinvestigate the structure and dynamics of confined fluids usingneutron and X-ray scattering, complemented by techniques such asthermodynamics measurements, electron microscopy and broadbanddielectric spectroscopy. The research aims to advance ourunderstanding of both classical and quantum fluids by elucidatinghow atomic and molecular dynamics, dimensionality, and confinementgovern their macroscopic properties.

Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Physics, Materials Science and Engineering or aclosely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience with scattering techniques (neutron andX-ray scattering experience is highly desirable) but experiencewith complementary materials characterization techniques such aslight scattering will also be considered.
  • Strong understanding of condensed matter physics and/orprinciples of materials physics.
  • Proficiency in data analysis using software such as MantidPlot,Igor Pro or similar.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of acollaborative research team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including theability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
